Classic Pecan Pie is a rich brown sugar ice cream with roasted pecans and pieces of flaky pie crust mixed with a pecan pie filling.

“Our new flavor combines your favorite ice cream with everything you enjoy in a pecan pie,” said John Neal Robinson, general sales manager for Blue Bell. “Pecans, pie crust pieces, and yes, even a pecan pie filling swirl, all surrounded by a brown sugar ice cream – did we miss anything? There is no need for pie and ice cream when you can now have both in a carton of our Classic Pecan Pie Ice Cream.”

Classic Pecan Pie Ice Cream is available in half-gallon and pint sizes for a limited time.

Pecan pie is the state pie of Texas, home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. “At Blue Bell, we know how to make great-tasting ice cream. Also, now in stores from Blue Bell is Homemade in the Shade Ice Cream. After a 10-year hiatus, the flavor made its return in July. Homemade in the Shade, available in the pint and half gallon sizes, is Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream combined with a swirl of rich chocolate fudge sauce.

BRENHAM, Texas, August 22, 2025 – Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream half gallon packaged in a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough carton produced in its Brenham, Texas, plant because of undeclared almond, walnut, and pecan.  The recalled product was mistakenly packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream cartons with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid.  People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds, walnuts, and pecans run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

A Blue Bell employee discovered the incorrect packaging on two half gallons while restocking a retailer. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date. No other incorrect packaging has been discovered or reported to date.

The half gallons can be identified as Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream packaged in a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough half gallon carton with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid and with the following code located on the top of the half gallon lid: 061027524. An image of the affected product is included below.

The affected ice cream half gallons were distributed through retail outlets in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Panhandle, Northwest Georgia, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Southwest Virginia.

Consumers who have purchased these items can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Homemade in the Shade combines the company’s top-selling Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with a swirl of rich chocolate fudge sauce.

“One of our most requested ice cream flavors, Homemade in the Shade, is returning,” said Carl Breed, vice president, sales & marketing for Blue Bell. “The inspiration for this flavor was simple. Many of our fans told us how much they enjoy eating Homemade Vanilla covered in a chocolate sauce. However, there is one major change. Homemade in the Shade has a new carton design featuring a big oak tree to tie in with the name. Same great flavor, but with a new look.”

Homemade in the Shade is now available in the half gallon and pint sizes, but only for a limited time.

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan declared July National Ice Cream Month. National Ice Cream Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of the month, which is July 20 this year.

Another fan-favorite is returning to stores this month—Orange Swirl, a creamy vanilla ice cream swirled together with Blue Bell Orange Sherbet. For a limited time, Orange Swirl is available in pint size. The flavor also has a new look, with a bright, eye-catching carton featuring, you guessed it, orange swirls!

Last year, Blue Bell held a contest via its social media pages and website, giving ice cream lovers the chance to bring back a retired flavor. The tournament began with 16 favorites carefully chosen from the many consumer requests the company receives. Fans voted on each bracket until it was down to the final two: Groom’s Cake vs. Cookie Cake.

“We are excited to have Groom’s Cake back in stores this year,” said Kelli Remmert, Blue Bell marketing communications manager. “It is always difficult to say goodbye to an ice cream flavor that you love. Being able to interact with our fans and hear directly from them is always fun. We plan to have another flavor tournament in the future, and we know the competition will be just as sweet.”

Blue Bell introduced Groom’s Cake Ice Cream in 2009, but it has not been available in stores since 2018. The flavor is luscious Blue Bell Milk Chocolate Ice Cream combined with chocolate cake pieces and chocolate-coated strawberry hearts, surrounded by swirls of strawberry sauce and chocolate icing. For a limited time, Groom’s Cake will be sold in the pint and half gallon sizes.

And due to the overwhelming response from Cookie Cake fans, Blue Bell is also releasing the runner-up later this month. Cookie Cake is a sweet cream ice cream loaded with chocolate chip cookie cake pieces and swirls of chocolate and vanilla icing. It will available in the pint and half gallon sizes.

“The competition was fierce because our fans are very passionate about Blue Bell Ice Cream,” Remmert added. “We are happy to be able to bring back not one, but two favorite flavors.”

Banana Fudge is Blue Bell Milk Chocolate Ice Cream swirled with a banana-flavored ice cream.

“Our new Banana Fudge Ice Cream combines two flavors that complement each other so well,” said Sara Schramm, Blue Bell marketing brand manager. “Chocolate and banana ice creams are popular treats all on their own. But swirl these two in one carton, and you have an incredibly smooth and delicious dessert.”

Banana Fudge is now available in the half gallon and pint sizes, but only for a limited time.

Some may even recognize a familiar flavor when enjoying the new ice cream. “We know our fans still crave the frozen snack bars on a stick that featured banana and chocolate,” Schramm added. “We have received requests over the years to return these products to our lineup.
